The Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) is collaborating with the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) to deliver an executive education programme on sustainability leadership for the Islamic financial industry.
The Sustainability Leadership Programme for Financial Institutions (“the Programme”) is scheduled on 14 and 15 July 2021. The Programme will be conducted over three cohorts and the first cohort will be attended by 32 delegates from 17 Islamic banks comprising Board members, Chief Executive Officers and senior management officers. The Programme is organised in support of the commitment by the Value-based Intermediation (VBI) Community of Practitioners (COP) and Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM).
Adnan Zaylani bin Mohamad Zahid, the Assistant Governor of Central Bank of Malaysia will be officiating the Programme.
“IBFIM is honoured and excited to collaborate with CISL, a leading and renowned global sustainability institute. We believe the Programme, exclusively developed by CISL for the Islamic financial industry, will spur the adoption of VBI and strengthen the industry’s role in advancing a sustainable future. We are also pleased to have the support and commitment from the VBI-COP members during the programme development stage,” said Yusry Yusoff, Chief Executive Officer, IBFIM.
“CISL has worked for over 30 years with business and finance leaders, policymakers and civil society to help them understand and address critical global challenges and convert their enhanced knowledge and networks into powerful tools for progress. We are committed to tackle climate change, protect and restore nature and build inclusive and resilient societies. We look forward to collaborating with IBFIM to deliver this transformative leadership programme to help financial institutions anticipate and respond to sustainability risks and opportunities in a fast-changing world,” said Claire Shine, Director and CEO, University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
