Halal industry has potential to set world back on course, says Chow

The halal industry has the potential to set the world back on course, said Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
He said this was because the economic potential of the industry had attracted the non-Muslim community to further develop it involving various sectors.
“This can be seen after the reopening of the country’s borders. For the Halal industry to thrive, we must capitalise on the combined synergy that exists.
“We must spur the existing ecosystem with new technologies and explore all areas of growth as well as equip halal entrepreneurs with digital access and knowledge,” he said when officiating the Penang International Halal Expo and Conference (PIHEC) 2022 here on Saturday (July 2).
