First International Consulting (FIC) is an Islamic finance consultancy firm providing its services globally. Headed by individuals who led the pioneer Islamic bank, Takaful operator and Islamic capital market, FIC has carved a niche in the Islamic finance industry across South East Asia, Middle East, Sri Lanka and several countries in the African continents.

Upon their retirement from active management of their respective Islamic financial institutions, these individuals carried on their pursuit of Daawah in Islamic finance through FIC. Countries that have benefitted from their sharing of experiences include Mauritius, Gambia, Nigeria in Africa, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait in the Middle East, Sri Lanka and Maldives in the South Asian region and notably Indonesia, Brunei and Thailand within the ASEAN region. In several instances, post-consultancy work, these gentlemen continue to guide the new Islamic financial institutions in their roles as members of the Board of Directors of these organisations.

On the development of talent in Islamic finance, FIC is an active contributor in the development of learning materials for the various Islamic finance certifications as well as deepening the understanding of industry practice. FIC writers were the authors of “Fundamentals of Takaful” and “Understanding Sukuk” key reference materials for respective modules in IBFIM’s Certified Qualification in Islamic Finance (CQIF) as well as “Takaful: Operations & Business Competence” and “Islamic Wealth Management”.
