Inaugural SIDC workshop on Islamic markets – Experts meet to promote ICM human capital development
The Securities Industry Development Centre (SIDC), the training and education arm of the Securities Commission (SC), will be organising a comprehensive training programme on the Islamic capital market from 10-14 July 2006 at the SC Building in Kuala Lumpur.
The inaugural workshop entitled "Islamic Markets Programme" adopts a progressive learning format and will enable experts and participants to keep abreast with emerging trends and developments, and enhance their knowledge of new products and services in the ever-widening range of international Islamic business applications and innovations. Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar, an SC Shariah Advisory Council member and President of the International Institute of Islamic Finance Inc. (IIIF) is the programme principal.
The high-level programme aims to promote the transfer of knowledge and sharing of expertise by skilled market professionals, contributing towards human capital development in the Islamic capital market. The programme is timely given the rapidly progressing Islamic capital market that has emerged as a significant area of growth offering a variety of increasingly acceptable products, infrastructure, institutions, intermediaries and investors.
Market intermediaries, consultants, issuers, investment strategists, stock market professionals, senior finance executives, institutional investors, funding corporations, securities market regulators, exchanges, government representatives as well as academicians will find this workshop insightful and enriching.
