As growth in global trade is increasingly concentrated in emerging economies, new opportunities have opened for Islamic trade financing. Post the global financial crisis growth in global trade has reflected a more diverse representation of the world's economies. That trend, combined with the shifting of preferences towards Shariah-compliant banking, gives further impetus for the rise of Islamic trade financing.
