Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (Malaysia) Berhad to Setup Multi Currency Sukuk Porgramme

The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (Malaysia) Berhad today announced that it has appointed CIMB Investment Bank Berhad and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International plc to be the Joint Lead Arrangers and Joint Lead Managers for the proposed issuance of multi-currency Sukuk Programme under the Shariah principle of Wakalah Bi Al-Istithmar of USD500 million. This issuance marks the first Sukuk issuance for a Japanese commercial bank issued out of Malaysia’s Islamic finance marketplace and in the global market.
